Freelance Statutory Analyst (ZZP)

Mars has centralized its tax, treasury and statutory reporting activities per local centers that have a geographical responsibility (ICTCs). The ICTCs play a key role within the Mars Finance (S&F) organization, both locally and globally. The ICTC Benelux team is responsible for servicing a large number of legal entities in both Belgium and the Netherlands.

For temporary support, we are looking for contractor who will ad interim support the statutory function within the team. The responsibility includes the preparation and filing of local financial statements, , preparation and/or review of period close activities, financial support to corporate tax compliance process, and the support to ad hoc tax, treasury and legal related projects.

The interim position will report into the head of the ICTC DACH and Benelux. The role covers the Benelux region only.

Statutory Accounting Process:

•Responsible for initiating local statutory accounting adjustments for general transactions, depreciation, inventory, tax, financing and other transactions for Dutch Holding entities.

•Identifies and accurately maps / accounts for any adjustments to USGAAP necessary to comply with local statutory accounting requirements across all entities in The Netherlands and Belgium.

•Collaborates effectively with other Mars Finance functions including the shared service centre called MGS-Finance, Controllers etc.

•Preparation of all documentation regarding the approval and filing of Statutory Financial Statements of some holding entities.

Statutory External Audit:

•Acts as a point of contact to provide full support for auditors on local financial statements audits, including coordination of information

Administration of Dutch Holding activities:

• Prepare adjustments for period end close activities in SAP.

• Period end group reporting.

• Quarterly group reporting.

• Assist in (preparation) to Board meetings

• As Needed Tax and Treasury Support 

• Provide ad-hoc support (including possible project management support) on Tax, Treasury and legal projects and/or functional support as needed.

Requirements:

•Academic degree in Accounting, a similar education plus relevant working experience can also qualify.

•Relevant experience in Accounting of Finance department.

•Knowledge of and experience with SAP is a requirement. Experience with Caseware is a pre.

•A preference for external reporting. Knowledge of IFRS not required.

•Experience with US Gaap is a pre

•Good Dutch and English communication skills.
