Job Purpose & Responsibilities:
As Senior Accountant, you are responsible for a number of legal entities, providing insight in each legal entities’ Balance Sheet and P&L towards its internal and external stakeholders. For this, you will be involved in executing period end closing activities, ensuring uninterrupted processes in accordance with policies and procedures, preparing and analyzing statutory- and other financial statements, supporting internal and external audits and ensuring special projects are executed properly. This job is reporting into the Manager Financial Closing Europe.
• Execute monthly, quarterly and year-end closing of the legal entities you are responsible for, in accordance with accounting practices and procedures. This includes analyzing legal entity balances, account reconciliations, creating postings (e.g. accruals, equity, investments, indirect tax, and payroll), clearing intermediate accounts etcetera.
• Create partnerships with other Finance departments and functions for optimization of processes & activities with a continuous focus on compliance.
• Support internal and external audit requirements.
• Perform the accounting for (corporate staff) departments like HR, IT, Procurement, General Affairs, Manufacturing, BU Overheads etc.
• Drive improvement, simplification, standardization and digitization of General Ledger related processes & procedures (and align with other regions globally), with the aim to minimize post-close adjustments and manual journal entries and to maximize the percentage of accounts reconciled on time.
• Keep Knowledge Management documentation (processes, procedures and work instructions) up- to-date and pro-actively share knowledge with colleagues.
• Participate in projects.
Your Profile:
At least a Bachelor degree in Finance & Accounting and/or related fields.
3 to 6 years of relevant working experience in Finance & Accounting.
Knowledge of international accounting practices (IFRS / Dutch GAAP).
Solid understanding of accounting and reporting systems, preferably SAP R/3 and/or SAP S/4, SAP FICO, SAC, SAP Hana.
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word).
Proficiency in English both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate at regional levels of management.
