About the Role
As an AI Platform Engineer within the MAAP team at ABN Amro, you will be at the heart of our enterprise AI transformation. You will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and maintaining the centralized AI platform capabilities that empower data scientists, ML engineers, and AI teams across the entire bank.
In this role, you will bridge the gap between software engineering and machine learning, ensuring that our AI community has the robust, scalable, and secure infrastructure they need to build and deploy innovative solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Platform Development: Build, scale, and maintain central AI platform services and infrastructure that support the bank's growing AI demands.
Capability Enablement: Develop and continuously improve centralized AI capabilities, streamlining the machine learning lifecycle from experimentation to production.
Community Support: Act as a subject matter expert in AI engineering, actively supporting, advising, and enabling the broader ABN Amro AI community with best practices and technical guidance.
Operational Excellence: Ensure high availability, security, and performance of platform services, driving automation and MLOps best practices across the organization.
Required Skills & Competencies
Programming: Strong proficiency in Python, with a focus on writing clean, scalable, and production-ready code.
Data & AI Platforms: Extensive hands-on experience with Databricks (including Spark, Delta Lake, and MLflow) for large-scale data processing and model management.
AI Engineering / MLOps: Proven track record in deploying machine learning models to production, managing the ML lifecycle, and building automated pipelines.
Software Engineering Best Practices: Solid understanding of version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and agile development methodologies.
Nice-to-Haves (Highly Preferred)
Experience with Cloud platforms (Azure is heavily utilized at ABN Amro).
Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
Knowledge of standard banking security and compliance frameworks regarding data usage.
